TMRPA is issuing a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for consulting services to fill a Regional Trails Coordinator part-time contracted position. Accordingly, we are inviting consultants to respond to this RFQ. Included in this RFQ is a description of potential services and tasks and other related information. A detailed scope of work will be created in coordination with the selected consultant.
All questions pertaining to this RFQ shall be directed to Jeremy Smith, Director of Regional Planning, at 775-255-0285. The due date and time for this RFQ is Friday, January 16th, 2026.
The primary responsibility of the Regional Trails Coordinator will be to implement the TMT trails plan under the guidance of the TMT Working Group. Implementation includes working with government land/recreation management agencies at the federal, state, and local level and with local non-profits, volunteers, and other entities interested in trails. The work plan (i.e., “scope of work) will be developed by the TMT Working Group, TMRPA staff, and the selected consultant to coordinate funding, planning, construction, and maintenance priorities. The responsibilities include working with local political entities and the general public to build and enhance support for trails. One major priority is to work with jurisdiction planning departments to identify and promote trails as an integral part of planning for growth in the Truckee Meadows. To ensure successful implementation of the TMT plan, the selected consultant will need to identify and acquire a variety of ongoing funding sources to support planning, construction, and maintenance of trails, as well as the position itself.
We hope to hear from you soon, thank you for your interest in this opportunity!
